These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Runner's Relief Routes ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Runner's Relief Routes mobile application, our website at https://runnersreliefroutes.com, and all related services (together, "the App").
By downloading, creating an account, or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, if higher) to use the App. If you are under 18, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using the App you confirm you meet these requirements and that you are not barred from using it under any applicable law.
2. Your account
- You may register with your mobile number and a one-time code, with an email address and password, or through Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials and your device secure, and for all activity that happens under your account.
- Tell us immediately at admin@runnersreliefroutes.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person, one account. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.
3. Emergency SOS — important safety notice
Runner's Relief Routes is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for calling the emergency services. In an emergency, always call your local emergency number (such as 911, 112, 999, or 100) first.
The SOS feature sends an alert to the trusted contacts you have chosen, using SMS, email, and push notification. It does not contact police, fire, ambulance, or any public safety answering point, and it does not dispatch help.
Delivery of an alert depends on things outside our control, including your device's battery and GPS, your mobile or internet connection, network coverage, carrier SMS delivery, third-party providers, and whether your trusted contacts are reachable and willing to respond. An alert may be delayed, may contain an inaccurate location, or may fail to arrive at all. We do not guarantee that any alert will be delivered, received, seen, or acted upon.
You are responsible for keeping your trusted contact list current, for confirming that the people you list have agreed to be contacted, and for testing the feature before you rely on it. Do not put yourself in a situation whose safety depends on the SOS feature working.
4. Health, fitness, and medical disclaimer
The App provides general fitness tracking and information. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Distance, pace, heart rate, calories, training zones, and recovery estimates are approximations produced by consumer sensors and algorithms, and they may be inaccurate.
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing any exercise programme, and stop exercising and seek medical attention if you feel unwell. You use the App and undertake any physical activity entirely at your own risk.
5. Location tracking and route data
Run tracking, nearby restroom search, and live SOS sharing require access to your device's precise location, including in the background while a run or an active alert is running. You grant and can revoke this permission through your device settings. Location accuracy depends on your device, GPS signal, and surroundings, and we do not warrant that any recorded route or reported position is accurate.
Stay aware of your surroundings. Do not interact with the App while running in traffic or in any situation where distraction could cause harm. Obey all traffic laws and local regulations.
6. Restroom information
Public restroom listings, opening status, accessibility details, and amenities come from third-party map data and from contributions by other users. This information may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Availability, cleanliness, safety, opening hours, and access conditions can change without notice. We do not own, operate, inspect, or endorse any listed facility, and we accept no responsibility for its condition or for anything that happens to you at or on the way to one. Always verify before you rely on a listing, and respect the rules and property of the facilities you visit.
7. Community content and conduct
You retain ownership of the posts, photos, comments, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting), and display Your Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the App. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies already shared with others or retained in routine backups.
You confirm you own or have the rights to Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
You must not post or do any of the following:
- Content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or discriminatory.
- Sexually explicit content, or any content that sexualises minors.
- Content that promotes violence, self-harm, terrorism, or illegal activity.
- Spam, scams, phishing, pyramid schemes, or unsolicited advertising.
- Someone else's personal information — including their home address, phone number, or precise location — without their permission.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
- Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation with anyone.
- Falsifying run data, restroom reports, or emergency alerts, or triggering a false SOS.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to access the App's systems or other users' data without authorisation.
- Interfering with the App's operation, security, or availability, including through automated access, malware, or excessive requests.
- Using the App to stalk, track, or locate another person without their knowledge and consent.
Users can report content in the App, and we can review, remove, or restrict any content and suspend or terminate any account that breaches these Terms. We are not obliged to monitor content, and we are not responsible for content posted by other users.
8. Intellectual property
The App, its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks are owned by Runner's Relief Routes or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from any part of the App except as the law expressly permits.
9. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services including Google Maps and Google Places, Google Firebase, Twilio, Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their unavailability may affect the App.
10. Fees
The App is currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in future, the price, billing terms, and cancellation and refund rules will be presented to you before you purchase, and purchases will be processed through Google Play in accordance with Google's terms.
11. Availability and changes to the App
We aim to keep the App available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature, or the App as a whole, at any time. Where a change is material and we can reasonably do so, we will give you notice.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by writing to admin@runnersreliefroutes.com.
We may suspend or terminate your account, with notice where practicable, if you breach these Terms, if your use creates a legal or security risk, or if we are required to by law. On termination your licence to use the App ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive — including sections 3, 4, 8, 13, 14, 15, and 17 — will continue to apply.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that any data it produces will be accurate, or that any alert or notification will be delivered.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Runner's Relief Routes nor its directors, employees, or suppliers will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or connected with your use of — or inability to use — the App. This includes any injury, loss, or harm arising from a failed, delayed, or inaccurate SOS alert, from reliance on location or restroom information, or from physical activity you undertake using the App.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Runner's Relief Routes and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the App, Your Content, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
16. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy at https://runnersreliefroutes.com/privacy-policy, which forms part of these Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING_LAW_JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of [COURTS_JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that consumers may bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence where mandatory local law gives them that right.

18. Google Play
The App is distributed through Google Play. Google is not a party to these Terms and has no responsibility for the App or for support, maintenance, warranty claims, or product liability relating to it. Your use of Google Play is subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you in the App or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the App after that date means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the App and delete your account.
20. General
- These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
- If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
